Department of Textile Engineering of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) cordially welcomes you to the department. Department of Textile Engineering (TE) is a community of faculty, students and staff that are working together to improve the scope and opportunities of the Readymade Garments (RMG) which is the thrust sector in Bangladesh in terms of GDP through textile engineering research, education and services. The department was launched in 2005 with 51 students, 3 full time faculty members and 10 supporting staffs. The department is the pioneer for the commencement of M.Sc. in Textile Engineering program among public universities in the country. The M.Sc. (Engg) program was launched in the department as a part of the Higher Education and Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) funded by the World Bank. Currently, the department is running successfully by 13 full-time faculty members, 300 undergraduate students and 70 postgraduate students. About 500 students graduated from this department since its inception in 2005 and working in reputed institutions both government and private sectors.
